OVER 240 TEAMS FOR INGWENYAMA CUP CULTURE
MBABANE – The appetite for competing in the Ingwenyama Cup Culture competitions has shot up this year.
The Shiselweni region will be the first to be hit by the fever as the competition heads south tomorrow. According to figures released by the Ingwenyama Cup Culture Competitions’ Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sandile ‘Msandi Kababa’ Nxumalo, the numbers have shot up for this year’s edition compared to the previous years. “There is a massive change in terms of numbers this year. They increased with more chiefdoms having registered for the competitions compared to the previous editions,” Nxumalo said briefly yesterday.
The Hhohho Region has the most registered participants, where 80 will be competing towards the national finals. Lutsango teams had the most registered numbers followed by ingadla, while emajaha had the least registered teams. Lutsango and emajaha have E75 000 at stake while sibhaca and ingadla will vie for E50 000. The regional competitions will start at 8:30am in all the regions.
