MBABANE SWALLOWS CALL FOR STANDS AT MKHUZWENI
MBABANE – Capital city giants Mbabane Swallows have urged the EFA to construct grandstands at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre.
Mkhuzweni is one of Eswatini Football Association’s (EFA) latest technical centres. Swallows have expressed their admiration for the E35 million worth facility, located in the Hhohho region. They have already played two of their games there. The first fixture was against Madlenya and recently against log leaders Royal Leopard. Swallows won 4-0 before being held to a 1-all draw. Swallows’ Public Relations Officer (PRO) Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya has requested for an immediate development of the venue. He said the team’s supporters were excited by their new home ground. “Yes, the venue is good for us, but we need to sort out the supporters’ stands and move the fence closer to the pitch, as fans watch from a distance,” ‘Bhambo’ said.
EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi ‘Rhoo’ Radebe said it was part of the organisation’s plan to develop its infrastructure. “There is always a plan, in as far as infrastructure developments of EFA are concerned,” ‘Rhoo’ said. It is notable that the EFA also plans to install fans stands at the KaLanga Technical Centre this year. According to their 2023 to 2026 strategic plan, they are hoping to build a 500-seater stand. By so doing, the venue will become the third, after the Mavuso Sports Centre and Somhlolo National Stadium, to be rehabilitated this year. Mavuso Sports Centre is yet to have the VVIP box upgraded, following the issuing of over E5 million.
