‘GO PROMOTE OUR FOOTBALL IMAGE’
MBABANE – “Congratulations on being part of this workshop go and promote our football now.”
These were the words of Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu during the official closing ceremony of the six-day EFA Administration and Management Workshop at Sigwaca House yesterday. The CEO said he was impressed with the number of MTN Premier League teams’ administrators who attended the workshop.
“This shows that in our football, we have passion about the sport in the leadership structures in the teams, especially when we are talking about the Premier League,” Mngomezulu said. He said the Premier League was the mirror of local football, because people gauged the level of the country through the elite league soccer. “We are happy that the first mirror we are seeing is good as people want to learn and get knowledge, which will enhance their leadership skills in their teams,” he said.
Mngomezulu encouraged the administrators to utilise the knowledge and skills they had acquired to their best to improve the country’s football and urged them to be patient with each other. He said the administrators were empowered on how football was run from the top to club level. “We should promote the image of our football so that we can be able to lure potential sponsors.”
He further said should the country’s football image be bad, those who wanted to partner with it, would distance themselves from being part of the sport. Mngomezulu finally assured the PLE and the teams’ administrators that they would continue organising such workshops if a need arose.
Meanwhile, the Captain of the administrators in Mbabane Swallows Governor Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane thanked EFA for the workshop, as club decision-makers, saying it would go a long way in helping them to make sound decisions as they ran their respective teams.
