“The Basotho delegation is scheduled to arrive in Eswatini on Friday (today) by road. These international friendly matches are part of the training programmes for the national teams in readiness of the upcoming future official competitions.
Scheduled
“The Under-17 and Under-20 national teams are scheduled to participate in the African Union Sports Council Region V Games and the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Under-20 Youth Championships, respectively,” shared EFA Marketing and Communications Manager Muzi Radebe.
Namibia are the hosts for the games. Initially Mozambique was set to host the 2024 Games which will now be staged in May next year. Namibia was to host in 2026 but they swapped as the former had some concerns they want to address. Mozambique will now host the games in 2026. Notably, the ladies Under-17 and Under-20 teams were in Lesotho last week to play a series of practice matches. The teams had mixed fortunes.
