LUBOMBO CHARITY CUP SWITCHED TO SIMUNYE
MBABANE – “We are going to Simunye for our last 32 games on Saturday.”
These were the words of Social and Recreational Games Eswatini (SARGE) President Nathi Dlamini, ahead of the Lubombo Regional Football Charity Cup Last 32 matches, which were penned for the Ubombo Sugar Limited this weekend. The president revealed that the games would once again be played in one village.
The Simunye Sugar Estate and the Goshe Zskolay Stadium, also known as the Simunye Stadium, will play host to the festivities. “Yes it’s true; we are now going to Simunye Stadium. Apparently Ubombo Sugar Limited had postponed due to a company event which is slated for this weekend. They gave us April 20, but unfortunately Illovo will be hosting Mbabane Swallows at Mayaluka,” Dlamini said.
He said the available date for the games was April 27, but unfortunately for SARGE they would be starting a new tournament and that was why they decided to utilise the Simunye Stadium. Dlamini also said some of the previous champions of tournament under the SARGE banner had vowed to lift the Lubombo Charity Cup, as they were eager to add silverware in their trophy cabin.
Dlamini further revealed that they would crown the champions later on the day at the Goshe Zskolay Stadium. “I would like to thank our sponsor Instacash. May the best team be crowned the champions of this year’s edition,” he concluded.
