RAIDERS, SITHOBELA, 2 OTHERS EXCEL
MBABANE – A former elite netball league team in Mbabane Raiders have excelled in the SBS regional Under-19 netball leagues.
Raiders withdrew from the Swaziland Building Society (SBS) women’s elite league this season and were crowned champions of the Hhohho region. This achievement followed the regional finals that were played two days ago. They remained unbeaten in their five round-robin games on Saturday at OlympAfrica Centre, which determined the champions. Meanwhile, Sithobela emerged victorious in the Lubombo region. They faced off against Simunye in the finals, as the formats varied across the regions.

They defeated them 18-11 to claim the top spot. Meanwhile, Nhlangano Young Stars and Siyakhula were the champions of the Shiselweni and Manzini regions, respectively. The Management Committee (MC) Chairman, David Dlamini, congratulated all the regional winners. “We’d like to thank all regional committees across the four regions, team owners, and umpires for the success of the competition. I would also like to congratulate all teams, as well as the champions, for their achievements, which demanded some sacrifices and determination,” Dlamini said. He further thanked SBS for the sponsorship that made it possible for them to host the games. SBS injected E200 000 into the Eswatini National Netball Association (ENNA) for the current season. ENNA will host the elite league’s grand finals, this weekend.
