MBABANE - Manzini Sea Birds have reportedly secured the services of Nsingizini Hotspurs’ talented attacking midfielder, Mayibongwe ‘Suarez’ Mabuza.

The former national Under-20 player previously travelled to Italy last year for an assessment with the development team of Pontedera, a Serie C side. Mabuza, who spent three successful years with the MoMo Cup champions, is reported to have received a lucrative offer from Manzini Sea Birds, which he accepted, thus securing the club’s successful acquisition of his signature.

“Mayibongwe Mabuza is indeed joining Manzini Sea Birds. However, I don’t want to reveal too many details as he is still contracted to Nsingizini Hotspurs, and we want to respect their club. Mabuza’s current contract with Nsingizini is about to expire, which means he is free to join any team he chooses. But I can guarantee you that he will be playing for Manzini Sea Birds next season,” said the source. The source revealed that the player wrote a letter informing them that he would not be returning to the club after his three-year contract with them comes to an end.

When asked about the addition of ‘Suarez’ to the Sea Birds squad, the club’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Thami Cebe, declined to comment at this time. He told the reporter that he would provide further clarification on the matter the following day (today). In an attempt to gather more information, the publication reached out to the attacking player but he also declined to comment, reiterating that he was still under contract with Nsingizini Hotspurs.‘Suarez’ is a junior international player, having represented both the Eswatini Under-20 and Under-23 national teams. Nsingizini Public Relations Officer Sibusiso ‘Mnotfo’ Dlamini could not be drawn for comment at the time of compiling this report yesterday night.
