MBABANE – “I call for unity in the Mbabane Swallows family.”

These were the words of the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA)-accredited player Agent Alimasi Bin Saleh, famously known as Adebayor in football circles. The agent said this during an interview on Tuesday, when introducing four Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) players who will undergo assessment at Swallows. These players are in the country to try their luck with the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League-bound Mbabane Swallows.

Adebayor said part of his visit to the country was to continue with the project he started with the late Umkhonto KaShaka and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chairperson Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze of taking local football to greater heights. “The project is to export local players and import foreigners for Eswatini and the only person that can help is Princess Lungile. The Swallows family should honour her and stop the fighting as it is not good for the sport,” Saleh said.

He then called for unity in the club, as it was the reason investors were shunning it, of late, revealing that a lot of businesspeople were eager to be part of the Caleb Ngwenya-coached side.
“The only person who has the contacts for these investors is Princess Lungile and for Swallows to get them everything should go via her,” he added. He further gave credit to Governor Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane and Bishop Bheki ‘All Nations’ Lukhele, for taking the team back to Africa.

“I would also like to give special credit to Welile Mabuza,” he added. Meanwhile, Umkhonto KaShaka Public Relations Officer (PRO) Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya could not be reached for comment by the time this report was compiled.
