MBABANE – Eswatini international and South Africa’s Richards Bay forward Justice ‘Figa’ Figuareido has recorded a significant increase of  over E3 million in his market value.

Figuareido’s value was around E4 million, early this year.  It has sicne skyrocketed to over E7.8 million (400 000 Euros), as per yesterday’s exchange rate. This is as per latest figures from transfermarkt.com, a renowned European site that has footballing information, such as scores, results, statistics, transfer news and fixtures. When Figuareido first joined Maritzburg United in 2018, his market value was a modest E1 million. It gradually increased to E2.4 million in January 2019.

Upon joining TS Galaxy in 2020, his value stood at E3 million. From 2020 to 2022, his market value steadily rose, reaching E3.5 million by the end of 2022. This upward trend continued into 2023, and by the end of January 2024, it had reached E4 million. Calculating a player’s value involves considering numerous factors, such as talent, age, potential, position, contractual situation, salary, injury record, technical performance data, international experience, image, the financial strength of the selling club, and the level of their current league.

Figaureido’s market value was augmented by his impact on the team, as he consistently featured in the starting 11.  However, his value took a hit in October of the previous year, when he suffered a groin injury, keeping him on the side-lines until November. Nevertheless, he managed to make it into the last 18, making positive contributions to the Kwazulu-Natal-based side until last season ended. He boasts of three goals for the side and at least one assist in 24 appearances.  He is highly regarded within the Natal Rich Boys, the affectionate name for the DStv Premiership side. Additionally, he reportedly earns over E30 000 and has been actively involved in the national team. Furthermore, his young age of 25 contributes to his increasing value.

Joining

Since joining Maritzburg in the 2018/19 season, Figuareido has never looked back. Although he did not receive sufficient game time at Maritzburg United, he was loaned to the now-defunct Mbombela United in the 2019/20 season. In the 2020/21 season, he was sold to TS Galaxy, where he played for a season before being loaned to Cape Town All Stars. It was during this period that he revived his career, scoring over five goals for All Stars and earning himself a deal with his current team, Richards Bay.  FIFA Accredited agent Dingane ‘Mendez’ Maduma commended Figuareido’s increasing market value, stating that these were signs of hard work. “His value has a good reason for increasing. He is brave in his play and grows every season,” he said.  Meanwhile, Figuareido could not be drawn for comment as he did not respond at the time of compiling this report.
