NOBUHLE EARNS CLOSE TO E50K

PORT ELIZABETH – In a resounding statement of her return to form, Nobuhle Dlamini has demonstrated her exceptional golfing prowess, securing a sizeable close to E50 000 in tournament earnings.

After a 13-month hiatus due to maternity leave, Dlamini has undoubtedly regained her mastery over the golf course. Her impressive display in the Czech Ladies Open was no fluke, as she once again secured a respectable finish in the recent VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. Dlamini’s remarkable performance in the Czech Republic tournament, held on June 21, earned her a substantial E27 000 (approximately 1 442 Euros) as the second top-ranked African golfer. Her impressive display continued a week late r(June28-30) in Switzerland, where she secured an impressive E18 000 (approximately 960 Euros) after carding an over-par-five and finishing 57th  overall in the tournament, taking her earnings this year to E45 000.

Carding

The event, which attracted over 130 golfers, saw Dlamini carding a combined score of 218, placing her among the top earners and third African golfer overall, behind only Cara Gorlei and Lenjan Lewtwaite. The South African duo carded scores of 211 and 216, respectively. Dlamini’s journey was not without its challenges, as she started slowly with an over-par-three in the first round before rebounding to card under-par-three in subsequent rounds. Her eventual finish with an over-par two demonstrated her ability to adapt and overcome adversity. The Swiss tournament was ultimately won by English golfer Alice Hewson, who took home a staggering E871 000 from the E5.7 million purse after carding an under-par-11.
