PORT ELIZABETH – South Africa’s Bafana Bafana anticipate a tough outing against Sihlangu, today.

The two sides meet at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, here in Port Elizabeth, in the decisive game of Group A. All teams in the group, that include Mozambique and Botswana, are on two points.  Bafana Bafana Coach Helma Mkhalele sounded confident that his troops would grind the needed result. “We have to make sure we win our game. It is crucial that we do the business against Eswatini, by scoring more goals and ensuring that we don’t concede. We will try to score as many goals as possible. To score the goals, we need to beef up our strike force to give Sibanyoni (Thabang) the support that he needs upfront,” said Mkhalele, who is also a celebrated legend in South Africa.

Start

If the coach’s words are anything to go by, this means he is looking to start both forwards in Thabang Sibanyoni and Ashley Cupido in their final COSAFA Cup group stage clash, tomorrow.
The coach stressed that that they would not read too much into previous results, which were in favour of his side. “All the teams have improved drastically, this year. Going into the game, last year’s stats will not come into factor. For us, we need to be well prepared and be ready to take on a tough team. They are hard running and ball playing team,” he observed.

Mkhalele stressed on the need to be at their best to capitalise on Sihlangu’s mistakes.  “We will have some few changes. We will be changing the formation,” he said.
The game will be played at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at 3pm. All teams in the group will play simultaneously. Sihlangu need a win to boost their chances of reaching the semi-finals.
