MATSAPHA – Matthew Van Zuydum secured the championship title in the Enduro Pro category, amassing 20 points.

He outperformed Blake Young, a fellow South African rider, who garnered 14 points, securing the second position in the Enduro Pro category. Matthew credited his success to his new bike and the well-prepared track at Dwaleni Farm.“It’s been a challenging yet fulfilling day of racing. The competition was intense, the weather was scorching, and the track was demanding, but it was a great experience for everyone involved. We had a fantastic turnout of riders, which was wonderful,” said Matthew.

Meanwhile, Kaz Sales, the President of Exodus Club, expressed his appreciation to the event sponsors and highlighted the remarkable improvement in the level of riding. He commended the meticulous preparation of the track, likening it to an international standard. Kaz also noted the ongoing progress of local riders in each race.“We can observe the younger riders stepping up their game; even the four-year-old participant had an outstanding race. The more experienced riders are evidently putting in hard work and dedication, leading to remarkable improvement,” shared Sales.

He extended his gratitude to Emlembe for sponsoring round four and acknowledged individual sponsors like the Mamba family for their consistent support. He also emphasised the presence of riders from South Africa at the event, expressing pride in the fact that most of these riders began their journey in Eswatini. He further highlighted their success in South Africa, citing top-five as well as podium finishes from the riders. “It’s truly an exciting time because the foundation laid in the past is now yielding remarkable results,” remarked Sales.
