MBABANE – Former Mbabane Swallows midfielder Neliswa ‘Tiger’ Dlamini has bid farewell to the side through a letter he signed two days back.

Dlamini reportedly penned a two-year deal with Shiselweni-based outfit Nsingizini Hotspurs recently. It was earlier revealed that the side dangled an alluring salary of over E10 000 and a signing-on fee of at least E50 000 besides other benefits to acquire his services. Earlier reports suggested that Umkhonto KaShaka offered him a new deal, which he rejected. The midfielder purportedly demanded an improved contract offer and a signing-on fee in order to consider renewing his contract. However, Insingizi YeZulu tabled him an offer he could not refuse.
The green and white ensemble are bolstering their squad ahead of the TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup. They recently signed former Mbabane Highlanders goalie Khanyakwezwe ‘Divers’ Shabalala on a two-year deal. The side has started training ahead of the upcoming season.

Roared

‘Tiger’ recently roared louder clinching the 2023/24 MTN Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) May player of the month and season awards. This earned him about E21 000 without tax.
“I am filled with gratitude for having been part of the club for two seasons. I am humbled by the role given to me by the coaches. To the fans who supported me the first day I wore the jersey and good luck to my teammates who helped me settle in since day one not only as teammates but as friends,” part of his letter reads. He further wished his former club success as they continue the game of football without him. “I want to wish the team many successes for the future and thank the club for giving me the opportunity to be part of history. To everyone at the club you have been amazing as the Slogan says ‘don’t follow me follow the birds’,” he added.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya confirmed receiving the letter. “Yes, we received the letter. However, we cannot comment further as he is a player for another team now,” he said. Ngwenya was quizzed with regards to the club’s reactions to Dlamini’s departure. Meanwhile, the latter could not be drawn for comment at the time of compiling this report as his phone rang unanswered.
