MBABANE – New Nsingizini Hotspurs midfielder Neliswa ‘Tiger’ Dlamini reportedly signed a contract worth E12 000 per month, positioning him as one of the top-earning players in the team.

The signing of ‘Tiger’ comes after a fierce bidding war, with Hotspurs beating strong competition from Young Buffaloes to secure his signature. It has been reported that the former Manzini Wanderers player had earlier turned down a renewed offer from his previous club, with his contract expiring at the end of last month.  The player was earning E8 000 per month at the Caleb ‘No Nonsense’ Ngwenya-led side.

Versatile

The latest information available suggests that the versatile midfielder, who departed for Sihlutse yesterday morning, has secured a lucrative deal.  Reports indicate that Tiger has been offered a monthly salary of E12 000, coupled with a handsome signing-on fee of E50 000, before going to represent Sihlangu during the Cosafa Cup. “The sum of E50 000 in signing-on fees, including an initial payment of E30 000, serves as a testament to his immense value as a top-tier player. As a team committed to excellence and long-term success, Nsingizini Hotspurs is thrilled to welcome a gifted and accomplished player like Neliswa Dlamini to our talented roster. We believe that ‘Tiger’s exceptional skills and experience will greatly contribute to our mission of not only clinching the league title in the upcoming season, but also strongly competing in prestigious continental tournaments like the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Milestone

‘Tiger’s arrival marks a significant milestone in our journey towards greatness, and we are excited to witness his contributions on the field.” the source said. Adding to the above, the source also shared that the contract between Nsingizini Hotspurs and ‘Tiger’ contains a specific clause stipulating the team’s commitment to assisting the player in finding a new club in South Africa or overseas, should the opportunity arise.  “This provision serves as a testament to the team’s dedication to the player’s future and their belief in his potential to excel on the global stage,” the source added. Meanwhile, while Nsingizini Hotspurs continue to strengthen their squad with the addition of ‘Tiger’, the club is also reportedly in talks with Siphosethu Mabilisa, a highly-rated defender from Mbabane Swallows. Mabilisa’s contract with Mbabane Swallows has reportedly already lapsed.

Joining

The former Vovovo fc player recently won his first MTN Premier League title with Umkhonto KaShaka after joining Caleb ‘No Nonsense’ Ngwenya’s side back in 2020. Mabilisa who has made the left-back position his own was also part of the national team Sihlangu that recently took part in the 2024 Hollywoodbets Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup in Gqeberha. According to the latest updates from the Mbabane giant’s camp, Mabilisa has become the second player on Nsingizini Hotspurs’ wish list.  “Yes, it is true that Nsingizini Hotspurs has offered Siphosethu Mabilisa a signing-on fee of about E25 000. Reportedly, certain officials from the team have held discussions with the player, expressing their intention to have him join their squad for the next season. The team believes that Mabilisa would significantly benefit the team, especially as they aim to compete in Africa,” the source shared.Further investigation into the proposed transfer deal revealed that a potential sticking point was the salary offer from Nsingizini Hotspurs, which is reportedly lower than the player’s current salary at Mbabane Swallows. This could prove to be a hurdle in the negotiations and might prevent the move from going through.

Salary

“Nsingizini Hotspurs is offering Siphosethu Mabilisa a salary of around E8 000, which is significantly lower than his current pay at Mbabane Swallows. This financial disparity is seen as a major obstacle to completing the deal, and if Nsingizini Hotspurs are determined to sign the player, they will need to increase their offer to a more competitive level,” the investigation revealed. In response to the departure of ‘Tiger’, Swallows’ Governor, Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane, affirmed the club’s commitment to respecting the wishes of their players. He reassured the team’s supporters that despite the potential loss of any key player, the club would continue to compete at a high level and strive for success in the upcoming season.
teamwork

“Success in football is built upon the foundation of teamwork, strategy and a collective determination to excel. While we acknowledge the departure of Neliswa Dlamini, I want to assure our loyal fans that we remain focused on building a stronger and more competitive team that will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season. We are committed to maintaining our high standards of play and nurturing a culture of excellence that will inspire and captivate our supporters for many seasons to come,” he said. When asked about Siphosethu Mabilisa’s reported move to Nsingizini Hotspurs, Zwane remained tight-lipped on the matter. Maintaining a professional and diplomatic demeanour, he acknowledged Mabilisa as a valuable player for Swallows and reiterated the club’s focus on the upcoming season’s success.

‘Tiger’ signed for the Mbabane giants during the second round of the 2022/23 season after the Sihlangu midfielder, was embroiled in a contractual dispute with Wanderers, and was declared a free agent by the Players Status Committee (PSC) at Sigwaca House in Mbabane early last year. The player had resolved to take the maroon and white outfit to the PSC, after allegedly not receiving his promised E30 000 signing-on fee, among other benefits.
