‘BUFFS’ STAR ‘PUMBA’ JOINS NSINGIZINI HOTSPURS
MBABANE - They mean business.
This is the story of ambitious Shiselweni-based side Nsingizini Hotspurs which have made the bold move by reportedly securing the services of talented Young Buffaloes midfielder Bongiswa ‘Pumba’ Dlamini. The former Moneni Pirates defensive midfielder joined ‘Amathole Ezinyathi’ during the 2022/23 season, quickly establishing himself as a key player in their line-up. His stellar performance during the 2023/24 MTN Premiership League season earned him a national team call-up in the recent 2024 Hollywoodbets Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup in Gqeberha, South Africa. Latest reports suggest that ‘Pumba’ has been granted permission to join the team under Derick Shiba’s leadership.
This highly-anticipated development is said to have been the result of successful talks between the president of ‘Insizi Yezulu’ and the management of Buffaloes, with both parties arriving at a mutually beneficial agreement. “I can officially confirm that Bongiswa Dlamini has joined Nsingizini Hotspurs. This development marks a significant milestone for both the player and the club, heralding new possibilities for the future,” the source shared. Upon being approached for comment on the transfer, ‘Pumba’ politely declined to provide any details on the move.
Meanwhile, Young Buffaloes Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sandile Gwebu, confirmed the latest news of Bongiswa Dlamini’s transfer to Nsingizini Hotspurs. “Bongiswa’s move has been approved and he is wished well in his new assignment and we appreciate the professionalism displayed by Nsingizini, especially their MD, our negotiations have been smooth and unfortunately we cannot share the details for the transfer,” he said.
Despite numerous attempts to reach him via WhatsApp messages and telephone calls, Nsingizini CEO Banele Ngobe was unavailable for comment. The signing of the former Buffaloes midfielder is the team’s fourth major signing, following the recruitment of Mbabane Highlanders goalkeeper Khanyakwezwe ‘Beer’ Shabalala, Mbabane Swallows midfielder Neliswa ‘Tiger’ Dlamini and Manzini Sea Birds attacking winger Innocent Dlamini. Nsingizini and Mbabane Swallows will be crossing their fingers for a favourable draw today in the preliminary stages of the CAF 2024/25 Interclub season at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
