MANZINI WANDERERS STAR LAUDS KFC, SCARA THINDWA

MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers ladies and Nciba High School attacking player Lindiwe ‘Malindi’ Dlamini, has thanked KFC/Scara Thindwa soccer tournament for the games.

The action kicked off with St Marks Primary edging out Manzini Central Primary 2-1 in the third place Under-13 Boys match. Duze High School and Our Lady High School played out a tense 1-1 draw in the Under -15 Boys division, with Our Lady emerging victorious 4-2 on penalties.  These transpired in a finale at Somhlolo National Stadium, three days ago. Moving on, Lusoti Primary claimed the Under-13 Boys crown with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Lulakeni Primary. In the Under-15 Boys final, Mhlatane High School proved too strong for Lamawandla High School, sealing a 2-0 triumph to take home the trophy.

The Under-17 Girls’ category saw Mdzimba High School dominate Mpakeni High School 4-0 in the third place play-off, before Ngwane Park High School was edged out 2-0 by a determined Nceka High School in the final.‘Malindi’, who shone brightly in the Under-17 Girls’ category of the tournament, emerged as the competition’s top goalscorer, with an impressive tally of 12 goals. The Manzini Wanderers star’s remarkable scoring streak finished in a brace during her school’s 2-0 victory over last year’s losing finalists, Ngwane Park High School.

“The games have been a success for Nciba High School, with our team clinching the trophy in an impressive display of skill and teamwork. Personally, I’m thrilled with my performance throughout the tournament, and confident that this success will carry over to my club games in the coming season. It was a privilege to represent my school on such a prestigious platform, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to showcase my abilities and compete against top-tier talent.” she said.

The 17-year-old, a prolific goalscorer for both Wanderers ladies team and Nciba High School, expressed her gratitude to the Kentucky Fried Chicken  and Scara Thindwa schools soccer tournament, for providing a platform that not only allowed her to showcase her skills, but also kept her focused and engaged during the past few weeks. The young athlete emphasised the significance of maintaining a healthy balance between her soccer commitments and academic pursuits, highlighting the importance of dedication and discipline in achieving success in both areas.
