KURASH INTERNATIONAL TOURNEY: ESWATINI HOST 10 COUNTRIES
EZULWINI - The Eswatini Judo Federation (EJF) will host 10 countries for a two-day international Kurash competition in Pigg’s Peak.
Eswatini team Head of Delegation, Tertius Esterhuysen mentioned that the competition is set to commence at 10am tomorrow, with the juniors first to take the mats. He also said that key figures such as Martial Ngoka from Congo, Willie Paulsen of Botswana as well as South African Sports Director, Darren Louw have already arrived at the Pigg’s Peak Hotel, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter in Eswatini’s judo landscape.
The excitement does not stop there as the international flavour of the event is further enhanced by the participation of representatives from Mozambique, South Africa, Benin, Egypt, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, and Botswana. Meanwhile, Sipholesihle Nxumalo, Marketing Manager at Diplomat Eswatini, expressed the company’s dedication to supporting the next generation, stating: “We have sponsored a total sum of E60 000. It’s not just about the money for us; it’s about instilling self-defence and discipline in our children. Our sponsorship covers everything, from entrance fees to accommodation, food, transport and more.
We are committed to ensuring the well-being and success of the team.”
Nxumalo further emphasised Diplomat Eswatini’s focus on safety and protection, highlighting that they believed in equipping individuals with advanced technology and defence skills. She said their firearms department offered training in self-defence and firearms safety, reflecting their commitment to promoting safety within the community.
