MTHUNZI RESIGNS, SIGNS 1-YEAR DEAL WITH ‘BULL’
MBABANE – In a rather unexpected turn of events, Rangers Football Club Head Coach Mthunzi Ginindza has tendered his resignation and subsequently signed a one-year renewable contract with Mbabane Highlanders.
According to a credible source within the ‘Inkunz’emnyama’ camp, Ginindza has reportedly agreed to take over the managerial reins at the club for the 2024/25 season, replacing Milton ‘Spanish’ Dlamini. Dlamini’s tenure as head coach came to an end last month.“Mthunzi has officially been appointed as the Head Coach of Mbabane Highlanders. The news of his appointment has generated a buzz within the Highlanders fan base, who are eagerly awaiting the start of the new season and the potential success that his leadership could bring,” revealed the source. The source went on to say that Ginindza’s appointment was anticipated to provide much-needed stability and leadership to the club, particularly with his impressive track record at Rangers FC.
Prestigious
Confirming the news with the publication, the newly-appointed Highlanders head coach revealed that he had indeed, joined the prestigious club, but preferred to discuss the details of the deal at a later date. “I can confirm that I have accepted the position as the head coach of Mbabane Highlanders Football Club, but at the moment, I am on my way to training at Ezulwini Sports Ground. I would prefer to talk about this development in greater depth at a more opportune time,” he shared.
Meanwhile, Rangers Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thembinkhosi Hlandze, confirmed that the club indeed, received a resignation from its former head coach. However, Hlandze stated that he was not aware of Ginindza’s impending signing with Mbabane Highlanders at the time. “We have indeed, received a resignation letter from Mr Ginindza, but I was not aware that he had already agreed to take up the head coach position at Mbabane Highlanders,” he stressed.
