LUYANDA, SELULEKO CLOSER TO BLACK BELTS

MBABANE – The Eswatini Kyokushin Association (EKA) hosted a karate grassroots grading session at the SAGM Hall, over the past weekend.

Sensei Sifiso Magaia expressed satisfaction with the successful grading of students from different participating schools. Notably, two karatekas from the grassroots’ grading session advanced from first green belts to second green, further enhancing their expertise in the sport. Luyanda Mabuza and Seluleko Sithole are now just two grades away from achieving their black belts.

According to Sensei Sifiso, both karatekas have played a crucial role in training and supporting students, not only in their own school, but also in others. The grading session was led by Sensei Obed Magaia and Sensei Gondo, under the supervision of Shihan Amen Mayisela. Sensei Obed also highlighted that the grading session revealed the students’ thorough preparation and unveiled new talents such as John Cele, known for his promptness and accuracy in hitting his target.

“We would also like to congratulate St Francis High School for being the first school Dojo to have a senior belt, through Seluleko Sithole, who has not only proven to be an excellent karate instructor, but has also inspired numerous females to excel in the sport,” revealed Sensei Obed. Sensei Sifiso Magaia also extended appreciation to the parents and teachers for their support, as well a student from Christian University who delivered a brief presentation on time management. Special thanks were also given to the sponsor of the grading session, Royston Signs, and to Nkonyane for donating sanitary towels to the girls.
