IMBUBE MARATHON: 700 SPACES LEFT IN 10KM
MBABANE – About 700 spaces are still available for runners who are interested in taking part in the 10km race event of the prestigious Imbube Marathon.
It is only nine weeks before the celebrated event organised by Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF), which is scheduled to take place at Somhlolo National Stadium. It is set for Sunday August 6, 2024, at exactly 5:30am. The festivities will be headlined by a 42.2km race and participants are required to pay a registration of E265. A 21.1km race will also be another race runners will partake in and they are expected to pay a registration fee of E235. Those who will compete in the 10km race are to pay a E210 registration fee.
Accommodated
Meanwhile, senior citizens together with people with disabilities, will be accommodated in a 3.3km race and they need not to worry about the registration fee, as it is free of charge. Mid registration will close on August 23, 2024. ENPF spokesperson Mlungisi Dlamini, said the registration was still ongoing and everyone was still most welcome to register for the race.
“The registration for the marathon is still open. So far we have registered about 1 500 people for the 10km race.
We were actually targeting to have at least 2 200 runners for the 10km; there is still more time left for runners to register,” Dlamini said. He further mentioned that they were expecting to have 6 000 runners overall. To register online, would-be runners can log onto www.imbubemarathon.com. Alternatively, runners can visit any Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) outlet.
