IN SWALLOWS TASK TEAM: ‘TT’ SCOOPS ‘BIRDS’ TOP POST

MBABANE – A new task team has been formed at Mbabane Swallows and it includes some of the team’s revered legends.

According to well-informed sources, the task team comprises familiar names poised to tackle the challenges ahead. The list of appointed members has been submitted to the Swallows Chairperson, Princess Lungile, who has provided final approval before its submission to the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE). The three prominent candidates slated for top positions within the newly-formed task team are Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze, Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko and Jackson Dlamini. Tsabedze is set to serve as the General Manager (GM), while Nhleko is designated as Logistics Manager, with Dlamini the Public Relations Officer (PRO).

Reliable sources indicated that the list was submitted to the PLE yesterday. However, insiders reported that an opposing faction led by Absalom Ngwenya contested the formation of this task team. Ngwenya is the current Acting Chairman at Swallows as per documents in the Premier League. The disclosed list, shared with this publication by a credible source, revealed Bongani Dlamini as the Vice-Chairperson to Princess Lungile, with Slindile Mantata serving as the Secretary. Khaya Vilakati has been appointed as the new Governor.

Confirmed

Enock Nkosi, Secretary to the Elders, had earlier confirmed that the list was finalised, pending Princess Lungile’s approval. He stated that the media would be informed of any updates once the list has been officially ratified. Nkosi did affirm that ‘TT,’ ‘Samba Jive,’ and Jackson were included in the new interim committee. Attempts to obtain comments from Princess Lungile were unsuccessful, as she could not be reached immediately. Jackson, the newly appointed PRO of the interim committee, expressed that he was unaware of his involvement in the committee. PLE Football Manager Pat Vilakati also did not respond to requests for comment when contacted last night. Efforts to reach the other faction’s PRO, Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya, were likewise unsuccessful, as he was unavailable when contacted yesterday.

Propelling

During a press conference last week, Princess Lungile was announced as the new Chairperson of Mbabane Swallows by Chief Mvimbi Matse. The princess stated that she would reveal a task team responsible for governing the club and propelling it to greater heights. Meanwhile, Swallows Chairman Welile Mabuza was quoted expressing that they did not recognise the newly-appointed chairperson.
