EKHAYA INSURANCE’S E1.2M MRFA SPONSORSHIP

MANZINI – It will be a new look for MRFA teams, following a major boost from Ekhaya Insurance this season.

Ekhaya Insurance Board Chairperson Musa Vilakati announced a E1.2 million sponsorship for the Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) teams yesterday. The sponsorship will spread over three years with E400 000 used each year. Each team in the super and promotional leagues is set to benefit. “The partnership aims to ensure that teams have financial sustainability. Teams are urged to assist in promoting our services to their fans. If 200 fans join our insurance company, teams would get a commission,” Vilakati said.

It is worth noting that if teams manage to register 1 000 fans they would get a commission of E2 500 monthly. Ekhaya is based in the Hhohho region. However, they have spread their wings even to Nhlangano. They have used the sponsorship as an opportunity to give a proper introduction of themselves in the Manzini region.

Partnership

Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane lauded the partnership. “The fruits that the Executive Committee (ExCo) is producing show sweetness. This partnership is a first-of-its-kind in the region. The highest sponsorship MRFA had was half a million earlier. We are at a loss of words as Manzini,” he said. Meanwhile, MRFA Chairman Vusi Hall and team representatives expressed their gratitude to the sponsor. “Gratitude goes to the sponsor we hope this partnership will continue for years. With this sponsorship being announced it marks the start of our FA Cup. However, finer logistics are still going to be shared after our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held soon,” Hall remarked.
