HHOHHO FA’S OVER E100K DC COSTS
MHLATANE – Despite having a fairly good season, the HRFA Disciplinary Committee (DC) expenses shot up dramatically.
According to the Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA)’s financial report for the year ended May 31, 2024, the association’s DC expenses increased from E55 328 to E116 231, which was more than double. This is per the financial statement, which was presented by Treasurer Linda Mnisi during an annual general meeting (AGM) at Mhlatane High School Hall in Pigg’s Peak yesterday.
The financial statements were declared unqualified (in good order) in the presence of over 237 team representatives from the 13 zonal leagues. In the year under review, the HRFA referred a total of 79 cases to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) DC for adjudication. Secretary General (SG) Nkosingiphile Shongwe said their office was still faced with problems of poor reporting by the match officials. He was presenting the activity report for the 2023/24 financial year.
Cases
“Some cases take too long to be submitted to the office for adjudication, something which compromises the competitions in the regional leagues. the Super League had the highest number (13 cases), alongside Mdzimba,” Shongwe said. In other notable expenses, HRFA spent E60 000 on sponsorship refunds. They had not spent any money on refunds the previous year. Furthermore, office expenses shot up from E7 475 to E37 830. Meanwhile, administrative expenses had a significant decrease from E301 740 to E115 223. The association generated close to E2 million revenue from sponsors, registration fees and EFA grant.
