STRONG SQUAD FOR DARTS REGION V CHAMPS

MBABANE – The Eswatini National Darts Association (ENDA) has selected a strong squad for the upcoming Region V Championships.

The competition is set to start next Sunday (August 25) at Esibayeni Lodge. The ENDA squad is dominated by players from darts powerhouses  like Green Arrows. They include Ntokozo Makhanya, Public Relations Officer (PRO) Flag Nxumalo, Senzo Fakudze and Bafana Nkambule. In addition, the country’s oldest darts player in Friday Mncina from Malkerns has also made the cut alongside teammate Sifiso Simelane. Completing the list of the men’s senior squad is Elvis Shongwe from Remnants.

Meanwhile, Thobile Gumedze from Green Roses headlines the list of female elite team members. Gumedze recently claimed victory in the BOAB National Championships, last weekend.
Her teammates, Fisiwe Ndwandwe and Simphiwe Madzinane will also showcase their exceptional darts skills in the competition.  The association has entrusted Banele Mndzebele, Nkosephayo Dlamini (both Elangeni Vipers), Sandziso Nhleko (Green Spears), Nontsikelelo Msibi (Green Roses), Mbali Sihlongonyane (Green Roses) and Nompendulo Ndlela (Green Roses), to compete in the Under-25 youth category. 

Abraham Ndzinisa and Jethro Ndzingane, on the other hand, are set to compete in the veteran category. The Green Spears duo recently clinched the doubles category in the BOAB National Championships. Eight teams including Eswatini are expected to aim at the darts boards.  Visiting countries will include Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa, among others. ENDA PRO Nxumalo confirmed the squad. “It was a challenge selecting the squad following the good performance players showed last weekend. However, the ENDA believes these players will win something,” he said.
