MBABANE – South Africa’s Premiership side Richards FC speedy winger Justice Figuareido is Eswatini’s only export in the Sihlangu squad that goes into full-time camp.

With no permanent gaffer, former caretaker Coach Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane has been recalled to lead the side, as they begin preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers. Sihlangu play back-to-back fixtures against Guinea-Bissau and Mali in the period September 2-10, 2024. While familiar faces have made the cut, there is no place for the likes of impressive Zambia-based full-back Lindo Mkhonta of ZESCO United and box-to-box midfielder Mxolisi Mkhonto of Botswana champions Jwaneng Galaxy.

“On Sunday, the Senior Men’s National Team (Sihlangu Semnikati) will commence the preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies AFCON qualifying matches through the execution of the full-time camp to be held at the EFA’s Technical Centre at Lobamba,” shared the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications office. As the recruitment process is still ongoing, Radebe shared that the chosen players were selected by Ntibane, who recently led the national outfit to two draws and one defeat in the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup in Port Elizabeth. A new coach was expected to be unveiled this week. Worth mentioning is that the squad is tentative.
