MBABANE – Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has joined the nation in mourning the death of former Moneni Pirates legendary striker Sibusiso Boy Boy ‘Best’ Nyembe.

The erstwhile national team Sihlangu forward reportedly succumbed to an undisclosed sickness, early last week. Nyembe’s death shocked football fans as well Eswatini legends and those who are outside the country’s borders. The local football mother body could not be left out in mourning the late lethal striker, as they sent an expression of heartfelt condolences statement through the Marketing and Communications Officer, Muzi ‘Rhoo’ Radebe, yesterday.

“The Eswatini Football Association and the entire football household in Eswatini have learnt with great shock about the untimely demise of Sibusiso ‘Boy Boy’ Nyembe, who was a former player of the senior men national team Sihlangu Semnikati, Moneni Pirates and Hellenic FC,” reads an extract from the statement. The statement highlighted that EFA comprehended its solemn and heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, Moneni Pirates, Hellenic, friends, the general football fraternity and affected establishments.

Consequence

“As a football federation, we still cannot comprehend the passing on of  Nyembe, as he was a great footballer during his playing days; as a consequence, he played up to the national team level. His passing-on is a gigantic loss to football as he was a motivation to the current and upcoming players,” further reads the statement. The EFA went on to quote a verse from Romans 8:18, which reads; “Consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Furthermore, the EFA joined the rest of the nation as it expressed its symbol of solidarity and wished that the Lord comforted all those affected as a result of Nyembe’s demise of Nyembe. According to a source close to the Nyembe family, the former ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni star will laid to rest this coming weekend at Mangwaneni in Mbabane.
