‘WESLIANS’ CASE POSTPONED
MBABANE - Postponed!
The Manzini Wanderers and Denver Sundowns relegation marathon case, which was supposed to be heard at the High Court before Judge Bonginkosi Magagula yesterday, was postponed. This was after the judge granted Wanderers their wish to have the item of relegation on the Premier League of Eswatini’s (PLE) recent annual general meeting (AGM) not discussed on the day. This happened three days before the AGM, which was held at Sigwaca House.
Dismissed
The ‘Weslians’ are seeking the intervention of the court, after both the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC) and Appeals Board dismissed their protest over Sundowns skipper Jimoh Moses. The protest was lodged before their MTN Premier League relegation six-pointer match, which was played at the Somhlolo National Stadium on May 19, 2024. They alleged that Moses had no valid work permit.
According to a source close to the Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe-led side, the matter was postponed yesterday, after Ikappa Kappa failed to file their papers on time.
Meanwhile, despite the ongoing proceedings of the case, Manzini Wanderers and Denver Sundowns are part of the Trade Fair Cup.
