MBABANE – They are selling like hot cakes.

The 600 additional slots of the Imbube Marathon 10km race have been sold out just four days after they were announced. This latest developments were revealed by Athletics Eswatini (AE) yesterday. “The response has been incredible. The 10km registration for the Imbube Marathon 2024 has sold out once again. Thank you to everyone who secured their spot. This year’s race is going to be one for the books,” AE wrote on their Facebook page.

These slots were aimed at enhancing the Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) road challenge after the initial 10km race slots sold out on August 11. Due to overwhelming demand, 600 slots were reallocated from the 42km and 21km races to accommodate more participants.Notably, mid-registration closed at midnight yesterday. Registration is ongoing and carries an extra fee. This late registration period, which opened yesterday, includes a E100 penalty.
