CLOSE TO E3M FOR KING’S CUP GOLF TOURNAMENT
LOZITHA – Seven companies have pledged nearly E3 million for this year’s King’s Cup Golf tournament.
The presentation of the replica cheques took place at Lozitha Palace, on Thursday.In total, the companies contributed E2.995 million, reflecting a significant increase from last year’s contribution of E2.35 million. This shows an increase of up to E645 000. As in previous years, the foremost contributor was the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC), which augmented its donation from E1.1million to E1.2 million, this year.
Following closely was new sponsor Luphohlo Commodities. The latter contributed E500 000, while the Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) raised its contribution from E450 000 to E475 000. MTN Eswatini maintained its support with a consistent donation of E350 000, with Nedbank Eswatini pumping in E250 000. Ubombo Sugar Limited and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) contributed E120 000 and E100 000, respectively. The cumulative contribution amounts to E2 995 000.
Meanwhile, the country’s flagship event is already underway in Ezulwini. The Pro-Am tournament was held from September 5 to yesterday. The main tournament commences today and will conclude at Ezulwini Country and Golf Club, tomorrow. Amateur golfers will compete for a prize purse of E250 000, while professional golfers will vie for a lucrative purse of E1 million.
