MBABANE – According to recent reports, Qiniso ‘Kati’ Nyawo has left the security forces team, before featuring in an official match for the club.

This publication reported in July that the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) 2023Trade Fair Cup Goalkeeper of the Tournament, Nyawo, had joined ‘Amathole ezinyathi’ ahead of the start of the 2024/25 MTN Premier League season. According to the latest developments from an impeccable source, ‘Kati’ has left Dominic Kunene’s side after reportedly being in disagreement with some of the terms of his contract. “Following the departure of Nyawo, the coach informed the team of his decision to leave and emphasised that the door would remain open for him to return should he choose to do so,” the source said.

Reasons behind

When contacted for an interview, the shot-stopper confirmed that he had indeed departed from Buffaloes, but declined to elaborate on the reasons behind his decision. Meanwhile, upon questioning about the departure of the former Umkhonto KaShaka goalkeeper, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Young Buffaloes, Sandile Gwebu, confirmed that he was aware of the goalkeeper’s departure, but emphasised that the team was focused on preparing for their upcoming match against Rangers FC yesterday.

Meanwhile, in Buffaloes’ opening match of the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup, the goalkeeper was on the bench as an unused substitute in the game against Denver Sundown. This was followed by his conspicuous absence from the squad in the team’s win over Green Mamba on Thursday evening, with Sicelo MKhwanazi stepping up to take his place. Nyawo’s absence from the squad in the game against Green Mamba only added to the speculation surrounding his departure from the team.
