MBABANE –  Eat or be eaten!

Moneni Pirates, having enjoyed a successful start in the 8Bet Trade Fair, will be seeking to maintain their momentum as they go head-to-head with long-time rivals Mbabane Highlanders in a highly-anticipated, headline-grabbing fixture this afternoon. Christopher Ennin’s Moneni Pirates, having showcased their quality in the recent 8Bet Trade Fair Cup, come into the league’s first game with high confidence and lofty ambitions. The ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni, having finished runners-up in the Trade Fair Cup after a 2-0 defeat to eventual champions Young Buffaloes, displayed a level of quality and determination that bodes well for their upcoming encounter with a revamped  Highlanders side.

The Mbabane giants, in turn, have undergone a series of notable changes to their team composition, with Mthunzi Ginindza taking over the reins as head coach.
Inkunzi’emnyama, having lost several key players in the current season, experienced a disheartening 3-1 defeat at the hands of Manzini Sea Birds in their recent outing.

Strong

As they prepare for the arduous campaign ahead, the team and their supporters will be keen to start the season with a strong performance that can restore faith in their abilities.
Last season saw Highlanders finish a respectable eighth place in the league, but with new challenges and opponents to face, the team will be aiming to surpass that achievement.
With both teams fielding talented squads, Moneni Pirates appear to hold a slight advantage heading into the match. Pirates can rely on the services of skilled players like Mthokozisi Hlatjwako, Sihlangu internationals Mazwi Sihlongonyane and Sizwe Gwebu, who will be crucial in moving the team towards a victory.

For the visitors, the responsibility of delivering a strong performance falls on players such as Mphucuko ‘Smoothies’Dlamini, Siphamandla ‘24 Reasons’ Maseko, Philane ‘Mkasabuli’ Mkhonto, and their recently acquired goalkeeper Ciniso ‘Kati’ Nyawo from Young Buffaloes . The experience and skills of these players will be essential in helping the team navigate the challenges of this crucial match-up against Moneni Pirates.
