Manzini Sea Birds forward Mthokozisi Gwebu has made an early dash towards the MTN Premier League ‘Golden Boot’ Award. The exciting ‘Izinyoni Zolwandle’ forward was in top form as he netted a brace against newly-promoted side Sidwashini United at the Nsukuwansuku Stadium at Mhlume, two days ago. The Friday Myeni-led team, buoyed by their striker’s exceptional performance, currently shares the lead in the MTN Premier League charts alongside Royal Leopard, Green Mamba and Sisonkhe FC.

The forward’s outstanding display of clinical finishing and goal-scoring was unmatched in the first round of matches.Other prolific marksmen such as Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa of Green Mamba, Royal Leopard’s Junior Magagula and Quality Dlamini of Sisonkhe FC each found the back of the net once. ‘Sikhali’ was last season’s sharpshooter with 20 goals.
