MBABANE - A side styled Nkwazi have put brakes on Eswatini export Lindo Mkhonta’s team, ZESCO United.

The iconic Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola witnessed this thrilling encounter, two days ago. First Assistant Coach Clive Hanchilensa opted to once again entrust Eswatini international and right-back Lindo ‘All-Trades’ Mkhonta to boost his defence line in the opening period. Mkhonta struck a beautiful shot from long range and it went in but the referee had blown for a foul inside 40 minutes. ZESCO were trailing 0-1 when the match went for a breather. Upon resumption of play, Abraham Siankombo, Anthony Chiyuka and Mkhonta paved the way for John Chingandu, Hiver Amine and Samson Mkandawire at the beginning of the second half.

It was David Simukonda who found the equaliser for ZESCO United, with a long-range shoot from the outside the box, when the game was 56 minutes old. Following the 1-all draw, ‘Ba Zega’, as ZESCO are affectionately known, visit Nchanga Rangers, tomorrow. The clash is set for 3pm at Nchanga Stadium. At the time of compiling this report, ZESCO occupied pole position, while their opponents were second on the Zambian Super League charts.

‘We’ll make teams uncomfortable’
MBABANE – Richards Bay Head Coach Brandon Truter says his charges will aim to make teams uncomfortable in the Betway Premiership, this season.
The Natal Rich Boys’ mentor noted that there were several determined players in the club, and he aims to build on their season-opening 1-0 victory over TS Galaxy, last Sunday.
Truter opted to rest Eswatini international Justice ‘Figa’ Figuareido in this game. New signing Keagan Allan rose highest to head home the lone goal in the first half and Truter’s men put up an impressive defensive display to claim all three points. According to SportsWire, Truter said the club was determined to make an impression on the league after they needed to win the PSL playoffs to survive relegation last season.

Tough challenge awaits Mxolisi
MBABANE - Jwaneng Galaxy Head Coach Morena Ramoreboli believes his side can still knock Orlando Pirates out of the Champions League again.
The Botswana champions parading Eswatini export Mxolisi Mkhonto went down 0-2 to the ‘Buccaneers’ in the first leg of their second preliminary round  clash in Gaborone, last Saturday. The former Green Mamba box-to-box midfielder Mxolisi Mkhonto was introduced in the first half of this match.

“We need to find reasons which will take us into the second leg. “For those who understand the game, leading 2-0 is not a safe lead. “We have the ability and capability to come back, we will come back,” Ramoreboli told the Citizen. The two sides once again meet in the TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League, tomorrow at 6pm.
The iconic Orlando Stadium in South Africa (SA) will witness this much-anticipated encounter.
