MBABANE – Eswatini Under-20 players will be aiming to collect maximum points when they face Botswana in this afternoon’s decisive fixture.

After a dream start in the 5-4 win over hosts Mozambique, Mduduzi ‘Sikhalo’ Nxumalo’s troops suffered a crushing 0-3 defeat against Zimbabwe, two days ago. This transpired during the ongoing Under-20s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers in Mozambique. The games are being played under the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) banner.

Separated

The two teams are coming to this match separated by only one point. This means that Eswatini will advance to the next stage of the tournament only if they win against Botswana. Eswatini further need Zimbabwe to lose or draw against Mozambique in a simultaneous fixture. Botswana defeated Mozambique 2-1 in their previous match.

Eswatini will be anticipating that the likes of international player Alakhe Mdluli will once again score goals. Mdluli displayed an amazing performance in their first game, after scoring more than once. Phiwayinkhosi Dube will also be in the spotlight for the national junior squad. The finalists in the regional showpiece will not only have a shot at the title, but also earn their place at the continental event.
