MBABANE – A 19-member squad departed yesterday from the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) offices at Lobamba for the Lesotho Games.

The games are set to unfold from today until this coming Saturday. The Eswatini squad will participate in four different sporting codes. This comes after an invitation from the Lesotho National Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Lesotho Sports Council, which opted to host these games. It is important to note that the invitation is due to the country’s relationship with Lesotho through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Meanwhile, the sporting codes set to compete are taekwondo, boxing and athletics. The EOCGA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Maxwell Jele, mentioned that teqball will be a demonstration sport, as Lesotho is still developing in this sporting code.
