PLAYERS TRAUMATISED BY MEGA’S INJURY – ‘BARNES’

MBABANE - “We’re still having some players who are disturbed with what befell one of our players, but we will go out there and play so we can be able to get the three points.”

These were the words of capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders Assistant Coach Sifiso ‘Barnes’ Mkhulisi during the MTN Premier League week four pre-match held yesterday at Sigwaca House. The ‘Bull’ will be playing against Manzini Sea Birds this afternoon at the Mavuso Sports Centre. “We are coming into this game fully prepared. I know some of the players are still in shock, but we have tried to counsel them not to be distressed but focus on the game. This was the first time seeing an injury of this kind. We are all deeply touched. Although we have some players who are injured, we will use others for the game,” Mkhulisi said.

The former national team Sihlangu defender revealed that they are happy to face Sea Birds after knocking them out during the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup and are eager to get the maximum points today.Meanwhile, Sea Birds Head Coach Friday Myeni said the players had been training since Monday and were all ready for the match against the unpredictable Highlanders side. “The players are motivated to play against Highlanders. We met in the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup and we learnt a lot from them.  We have a few errors to improve on. Tactically, we discovered their strengths and weaknesses,” Myeni said.
