MBABANE – They are eager  for action.

This is Manzini Wanderers, who have run to court again, as they had filed an application of execution yesterday afternoon. The maroon and white hub giants have been making headlines with their marathon relegation matter, involving rivals Denver Sundowns. The ‘Weslians’ lodged a protest against Sundowns Skipper and defender Jimoh Moses, alleging that he had no valid work permit during their MTN Premier League relegation six-pointer, which was played at Somhlolo National Stadium, on May 19, 2024. Both teams were hauled before the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC), which ruled against them. They then took the matter to the EFA Appeals Board, which also dismissed the case.

Initially

Wanderers, through their legal representatives, SM Jele Attorneys went to court for review of the EFA Appeals Board’s decision. The matter was initially before Judge Bonginkhosi Magagula, who later recused himself from the case, which was then brought before Judge Mumcy Dlamini. This High Court judge, after hearing both parties, set aside the decision of the Appeals Board.Wanderers, who are demanding to play in the Premier League, have tried in vain to force the football authorities to fixture them. A source close to the ‘Weslians’ disclosed that SM Jele Attorneys filed an application of execution at the High Court yesterday.

“Wanderers want both the PLE and EFA to execute the order that was issued by Judge Mumcy Dlamini as they want to play in the Premier League,” the source said.
An order to execute is allowed if there is a pending appeal. Moneni Pirates, who are interested parties in the matter, filed an appeal immediately after Judge Dlamini’s verdict. It is worth mentioning that Sundowns were officially relegated by the PLE and are playing in the MTN National First Division, while Wanderers are yet to kick a ball this season. Pirates, who are interested in the final outcome of the matter, are playing in the MTN Premier League.
