BULL'S NYAWO AWOL
MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders goalkeeper Qiniso ‘Kati’ Nyawo’s whereabouts are not known by the club.
The former Mbabane Swallows shot-stopper is reportedly absent from the club without an official leave. These reports were confirmed by Mbabane Highlanders Fitness Coach Christian Tfwala during the MTN Premier League pre-match briefing held at the Sigwaca House, yesterday. The black and white capital city giants’ trainer confirmed that Nyawo will not be part of the action, when they face rookies Sisonkhe in an MTN Premier League game scheduled for the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium in Nhlangano, tomorrow. “We are still in the dark on the whereabouts of our goalkeeper Nyawo. He has not been reporting to training,” Tfwala said.
The former Manzini Sea Birds gaffer said even though Nyawo will not be part of the team tomorrow, they still have two capable goalkeepers to take his position. “Even though we are now one man down, we still have two other goalkeepers in the likes of Machawe Dlamini and Bhekisisa Dlamini. We are confident that they will take up the space and give their best effort in the game,” he said.
Performance
The former Umkhonto KaShaka player joined the black and white giants’ last month, after a short-as-a sneeze stay with Young Buffaloes. He left the army side without kicking the ball in an official match. He delivered an amazing performance during his first game for the ‘Bull’ in the game against rejuvenated hub giants Moneni Pirates, where he kept a clean sheet.
Highlanders suffered two defeats with one win and one draw in their first four games. ‘Kati’ was deemed the best replacement for former goalkeeper Khanyakwezwe Shabalala, who is now in the books of Shiselweni-based outfit Nsingizini Hotspurs.
