MUZI LOVED EDUCATING HIMSELF - FAMILY
SITEKI - The late Muzi Lucky Matsenjwa was described as someone who loved educating himself from as early as the elementary level.
These words were echoed by relatives, friends and colleagues during Matsenjwa’s memorial service, which was held at the Siteki Town Council Hall, where over 150 people gathered to celebrate the life of the former Denver Sundowns long-serving Public Relations Officer (PRO). Matsenjwa was reportedly to have been unwell since he came back from Cape Town, where he contracted flue, which later affected his breathing.
Speaking on behalf of the Matsenjwa family was Timothy Dlamini, expressed his condolences to the rest of the family as well as friends, while expressing his worry over the younger generation that is passing away before the elders. “Who will bury the elders if the younger generation is leaving us? Just last week we were laying his brother to rest,” Dlamini said.
He expressed that, what had happened was the will of God, while citing that everyone was his children and he will take each whenever he wants. Royal Leopard PRO Frank Hurube shared his sentiments to the family as well as those in attendance, while sharing a few standout moments they shared together with the late Matsenjwa. “We are shocked with the passing of our brother, our sincere condolences to the Matsenjwa and Sitsebe families,” expressed Hurube.
He further expressed his gratitude to the other team’s supporters as well as PROs for making their way to Matsenjwa’s memorial service. “There was a day where we went to eat but Muzi stayed behind and went after us. When he was done eating he left the restaurant without paying and said I would pay the bill,” expressed Hurube, citing some of his standout moments with Matsenjwa. On the other hand, former Red Lions PRO, Comfort Shongwe shared his sentiments as well, while citing that Matsenjwa prioritised educating himself. “Muzi loved English, everything he would say would include the language, which also goes to show his passion for being a well-educated individual,” said Shongwe.
He will be laid to rest today.
