DOMINIC MUM ON PIRATES GOAL

MBABANE – “We need to work more on how to structure our attacks because that is where we are lacking.”

These were the words of Moneni Pirates Head Coach Christopher Ennin in a post-match interview, after their 2-1 loss against Young Buffaloes. “The game did not favour us but we will surely bounce back. We still need to work on how to structure the attacks because we need to be clinical in our football performance and that is where we are lacking,” Ennin said.
He also revealed that they have learnt a lot from their opponents and need to improve in certain areas.

“The game taught us a lot, especially on where to improve and how to prepare for our upcoming game against Mbabane Swallows,” he added. Meanwhile, Buffaloes Head Coach Dominic Kunene said the game was a challenging one but he appreciated his boys for taking all three points. “We appreciate the three points and the role the boys played in the field. It was not an easy game. We wanted to press them hard on their weaknesses but we were a bit late.  We were able to create chances but we made the mistake of losing power after we scored our first goal and that is when Pirates recovered and equalised,” Kunene said.

“We were able to correct our mistakes in the second half and managed to get a lead once more. A game of football is like a dice but if you have prepared well, there are higher chances of winning the game.” Meanwhile, Kunene refrained from commenting on the goal scored by Moneni Pirates during the match. Buffaloes beat the Pirates 2-1. However, their opponent’s equaliser came amid confusion as another ball was on the pitch. This led Buffaloes’ technical team to gesture towards the referee, Wandile Mamba, as they were unsure if he was stopping the match to remove the extra ball or signalling a goal. The latter, unfortunately for them, was the case.
