‘SILWABELWABE’ TARGETS 18 GOALS

MBABANE – Following his brace in Saturday’s match, Young Buffaloes’ veteran forward Phiwayinkosi ‘Silwabelwabe’ Dlamini has heated up the MTN Premier League top goalscorers race.

The ‘Amathole Ezinyathi’ seasoned forward, whose impressive career began with Midas City before their dissolution, displayed his sharp shooting skills in  Buffaloes’ 2-1 victory against Moneni Pirates at Mavuso Sports Centre. Scoring a brace, he brought his total goals tally for the season to four, elevating him to the coveted third place on the scorers’ charts. Amid the thrilling competition in the MTN Premier League, Green Mamba’s Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa was unable to find the back of the net in their 0-1 defeat to log leaders Mbabane Swallows.

This setback, however, did not diminish Ndzinisa’s standing as the top scorer in the league, maintaining his lead with seven goals. Meanwhile, Royal Leopard’s talented striker, Junior ‘Shisa Gesi ‘Magagula, missed the mark against Ezulwini United, unable to convert a goal during their 1-all draw at the Nsukuwansuku Stadium. During an interview yesterday, the determined forward declared his ambition to push his limits and strive for a remarkable 18-goal tally this season, in an effort to contribute to his team’s success.

“I am filled with a renewed sense of vigour, passion and determination, fuelled by a youthful energy that drives me to give my absolute best this season. With a focus on maintaining a healthy, injury-free physique, I am confident that I can play an integral role in the team’s journey towards securing numerous victories,” he said. The 34-year-old veteran forward, is no stranger to success in the MTN Premier League. During the 2021-2022 season, he swept the awards, securing the top goalscorer award and the prestigious best player award.
