NOBUHLE TEES OFF IN E7M INDIA TOURNEY
MBABANE – Eswatini’s professional golfer, Nobuhle Dlamini, is on a quest for international acclaim, as she prepares to compete in the Hero Women’s Indian Open.
The Lobamba-born athlete is among over 100 competitors in this prestigious event, which will take place from today to Sunday. Hosted at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Delhi, India, the tournament will be played over four rounds and boasts a substantial prize purse of E7 million. Dlamini recently showcased her prowess at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, where she secured a commendable position among the top 60 golfers, finishing in 43rd place. Her performance earned her E38 771, elevating her total earnings for 2024 to an impressive E327 632.
In the Lacoste tournament, which occurred from September 26-28, Dlamini faced three rounds of intense competition, culminating in a total score of +5. Earlier in September, Dlamini demonstrated her skill at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, where she surpassed the cut-off of 60 and earned E27 623 with a combined score of 292, amid a prize fund of E7.7 million.
Remarkable
On September 19, she carded a score of 288, finishing in 41st place and securing E107 759. Dlamini’s return to competitive golf has been nothing short of remarkable. After a motherhood break of approximately 13 months, she made a triumphant comeback at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open on June 21, earning E27 877 in her first tournament back. Just a week later, she added E18 547 at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. Her performance at the Dutch Ladies Open on July 19 was particularly noteworthy, as she took home E106 052.57.
