2024 HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW: PRIDE AT STAKE FOR ELIMINATED SITSEBE
MBABANE – Eswatini senior women’s national team Sitsebe return to battlefield, as they take on Namibia today at the iconic Isaac Wolfson Stadium in Gqeberha (South Africa).
This marks their last game of the 2024 HollywoodBets Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) Women’s Championship quest. The much-anticipated clash will also be streamed live on FIFA+. Sitsebe have failed to make it past pool stages since their debut in 2002. In contrast, Namibia also hammered Seychelles 7-0. However, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Banyana Banyana. Sitsebe are yet to win against Namibia, having suffered two defeats in their past meetings. As per competition rules, only group winners would progress to the next stage of this competition. Sitsebe are third in the group with the same number of points with Namibia. Head Coach, Bongani Makhukhula, will be banking his hopes on versatile defender Simangele ‘Smash’ Sikhondze for goals and the backline. In contrast, Namibian gaffer Nicholas Jacobs will likely entrust forward Ivone Kooper to find a crack from Sitsebe defence line.. Kooper has two goals in this tournament. A win can ensure Eswatini bow out with pride.
