NOBUHLE MISSES CUT IN E7M TOURNEY
MBABANE – For the first time since her return from a motherhood break, Eswatini golf sensation Nobuhle Dlamini has unfortunately missed the cut.
The Lobamba-born golfer’s resurgence in competitive golf has been nothing short of extraordinary. After a maternity hiatus of approximately 13 months, she made a triumphant comeback at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open on June 21, securing E27 877 in her first tournament back. Just a week later, she added E18 547 at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. Her performance at the Dutch Ladies Open on July 19 was particularly remarkable, as she took home E106 052 57. Following a series of impressive outings after her return, which saw her accumulate combined earnings of E327 632 across six tournaments since June, the 32-year-old faced a setback at the Hero Women’s Indian Open, hosted at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Delhi, India. This tournament, which ran from Thursday to yesterday, spanned four rounds and featured a substantial prize purse of E7 million.
Short
Dlamini fell eight positions short of making the cut, finishing at position 70 with a score of 12-over-par. Her performance on Thursday was particularly challenging, as she carded seven-over-par, and she struggled to recover on the second day, posting five-over-par. As a result, she was unable to make the cut, which is crucial for golfers to earn monetary rewards.
