MBABANE - A source intimately connected with the ‘Weslians’ has revealed that the team’s training has been abruptly suspended.

The informant, who requested anonymity, emphasised that the club had been practising without any definitive knowledge of whether they would be participating in any of the premier competitions, due to their ongoing legal dispute with Denver Sundowns. The source, who is a player for the side, confessed that he had chosen to cease training with the club before the decision to suspend the sessions was made.

“I don’t envisage myself returning to the club. I ceased training a while ago, realising that we wouldn’t be applying our training in the foreseeable future. “I presume the rest of the team’s training has also been halted,” the source disclosed. Regarding potential transfers, the source voiced that frustration had become a prevalent feeling, particularly since he could have been representing a different club by now, had he not chosen to join the team, this year. He further observed that the second round of the MTN Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) would offer him superior opportunities compared to the stagnation at his current club.

Inaugural

The last time the hub giants took to the field was in early September during the inaugural 8Bet Trade Fair Cup. Their most recent league match took place on May 19, where they faced Denver Sundowns. In a critical relegation battle, the maroon and white team were in dire need of a win but suffered a disheartening 4-2 defeat, leaving them languishing at the foot of the table. Since then, they have been battling to evade relegation, with their aspirations dependent on the result of their protest against Sundowns Captain Jimoh Moses, whom they claim was ineligible to play on the day of the match. This issue has been ongoing for over five months, even reaching the High Court. The matter is pending at the Supreme Court.
