AFCON QUALIFIERS: ‘KARAS’, ‘MAZA’ DROPPED
MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows impressive recruit Bongi ‘Karas’ Magagula, the standout player of the MTN Premier League for October, is out of the Sihlangu final squad - again.
The wing attacker for Mbabane Swallows has been called up for national duties on three occasions, but has consistently been unable to break into the final selection. His first call-up came during the back-to-back TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Mozambique. He was subsequently included in the squad for the African Nations Championship (CHAN), yet on both occasions, he failed to make the final cut, reportedly due to injuries. Most recently, he was selected for the final round of qualifiers, but was ultimately dropped, alongside the grieving Green Mamba veteran midfielder, Njabulo ‘Maza’ Thwala. The pair was from the squad that departed for South Africa, this past Wednesday, where they are set to face Guinea-Bissau and, later, Mali. According to the squad list released by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) yesterday, the final team comprises of 20 players.
