MALANTI MARCH CLOSER TO E50K ‘CARROT’

MBABANE – Malanti Chiefs’ flawless run in the MTN National First Division (NFD) is setting them as the one to beat for the first-round incentive.

They sit at the top of the table, undefeated in their eight matches thus far. Their latest triumph came on Friday in a catch-up fixture against city rivals, Pigg’s Peak Rangers. A solitary goal secured the victory, extending their lead from one to four points over Red Rhinos, formerly known as Tambankulu Callies, who are hot on their heels.

With four matches remaining for them to conclude the first round, and with the 14th NFD team still to be confirmed, Malanti are darlings to clinch the top spot.
Their closest competitors include third-placed Lozitha Spurs and fourth-placed Tambankulu Celtics, both trailing behind, yet they have played one more match than the log leaders.

Squandered

Spurs even squandered a chance to sit top, succumbing a 2-1 defeat at home last Wednesday to All Nations. So far, the first-round incentive of E50 000 is well within Malanti’s grasp.
Noteworthy is that Malanti remain the only unbeaten team in this division, while Royal Leopard hold a similar record in the MTN Premier League, albeit in second place.
