PLE SELLS LEAGUE TICKETS AT GATES
MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has announced that match tickets will be sold at the gates this week to address complaints raised by fans.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pat Vilakati, confirmed this yesterday, stating that there will be no prepaid sale of tickets for this weekend’s MTN League matches. “They have had concerns such as the sales centres not being close to the stadiums, but we are looking at ways to bring them closer. We would like to thank MTN Eswatini, who has assisted us in ticket sales so far, as some of the ticket point centres were their outlets,” said Vilakati.
Some of the concerns from fans included tickets being sold far from the stadium and a technical issue during the Mbabane derby. The biggest derby match tickets were sold at E50, but a few tickets were also sold at E30 causing much confusion among football lovers. Furthermore, in a statement released on Thursday, the PLE said, “Tickets will be sold at the gates at all venues. We request fans to ensure a smooth and efficient process, minimising queues and delays,” reads part of the statement. The current sales agent for the organisation is Nomakunini, which was given a trial before any agreement could be reached.
