MBABANE - Mbabane Swallows will face a significant setback, as defender Karim Madja is suspended for their crucial match against Royal Leopard, this weekend.

The suspension follows Madja’s accumulation of three yellow cards. He will serve a one-match ban, as stipulated by the MTN Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Rules and Regulations, specifically Article 6.2 (a). The PLE confirmed the suspension in a letter stating: “According to the record filed at the PLE office, the above-mentioned player has accumulated three yellow cards.” This absence comes at a challenging time for Swallows, who recently shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw against Rangers, at King Sobhuza Stadium.

In addition to Madja, Sandile Ngcamphalala from Mbabane Highlanders will also miss his team’s match against Madlenya, due to a similar suspension. The weekend will see a total of four players sidelined across the top division, including Sabelo Dlamini from Illovo and Reagan Kangumbu from Nsingizini Hotspurs, both of whom have also received three yellow cards. As teams prepare for these pivotal fixtures, the impact of these suspensions could prove crucial in the race for league points.
