‘BULL’ STAR IN FREAK ACCIDENT
MBABANE - Sandile ‘Ghana’ Ngcamphalala, a prominent player for Mbabane Highlanders, has been fortunate to survive a serious accident.
The accident occurred along the Big Bend-Siphofaneni Public Road last Saturday, shortly after the player had attended his team’s match against Madlenya, which ended in a goalless draw. According to sources, Ngcamphalala was a passenger in the sedan at the time of the accident. Both he and the driver, whose identity remains unconfirmed, were transported to Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital for medical treatment and were subsequently discharged. Reports indicate that ‘Ghana’ sustained head injuries during the acccident.
In a related incident, Given Lukhele, a star player for Mbabane Swallows, was also involved in an accident that resulted in the tragic amputation of his left hand. Following this devastating event, Lukhele has unfortunately had to cease playing for Swallows. In England, West Ham star Michail Antonio recently required rescue from the wreckage of his Ferrari FF after colliding with a tree. Meanwhile, it has been gathered through one of the interim management committee members that Highlanders players have been granted E50 000 by their patrons to share among themselves.
A source close to the team revealed that the 24 players will each receive E2 000. It was emphasised that this sum is not part of their salaries but rather a financial boost, as they are currently facing numerous challenges. Efforts to reach Khulekani Nkambule of Highlanders for comment were unsuccessful by 6:57pm yesterday.
